No trip to our hotel in Puyallup is complete without getting a look at Mount Rainier. This 14,000-foot mountain is an active volcano and the most glaciated peak in the contiguous United States, standing as a defining icon of the nearby landscape. And, if you’d like to take a proper look at this famous mountain, you won’t want to miss the chance to visit the Mount Rainier National Park.
The park is a great destination for hiking, climbing, and camping. Featuring over 260 miles of hiking trails, there is no shortage of places to explore throughout the old-growth wilderness and local bodies of water. The more adventurous types can brave the summit of the mountain, though a climbing pass is required to go up the slope and a wilderness permit is required to camp within the park.
