If you have an appreciation for Asian and Asian American culture, you’ve come to the right place. The area around our motel in Puyallup has been a favorite destination for immigrants from across the Pacific for many years, lending Seattle and the surrounding cities a strong and diverse Asian voice. And, if you’re looking for a great way to experience this voice, you can find it in the form of the Emerald City’s own Seattle Asian Art Museum.
An affiliate of the famous Seattle Art Museum, SAAM is devoted entirely to historical and contemporary work of Asian and Asian American artists. Here you can find works of Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Indian, Southeast Asian, and Himalayan artwork, all housed within a historic art-moderne building in Capitol Hill’s Volunteer Park. The facility also contains the Asian Art Museum Libraries, supporting the study of the Asian art found at SAM or SAAM. Drop by on the first Thursday of the month to take advantage of free admission!
