Karshner Memorial Museum

When you want to expose your kids to an engaging educational experience, take them down to the Karshner Memorial Museum. Just a short distance away from our motel in Puyallup’s historical downtown, this museum is a great place to learn about the natural and cultural history of America.

This museum was created by Dr. and Mrs. Warner M. Karshner, who founded it after their son died of polio. They then gifted the museum to the local school district to serve as a teaching museum. Every year, students from all over are able to view and interact with a collection of over 10,000 fascinating items, including an elephant foot, a Plains teepee, carved figurines, baskets, Inuit artifacts, old-time photographs, and much more.

You can find the museum at 309 4th Street Northeast.
