Oktoberfest Northwest Is Happening In Puyallup

A Little Town, A Big Celebration

In Puyallup, this October 6th to the 8th, Western Washington’s largest Munich-inspired festival is rolling out on two entertainment stages, called the 13th Annual Oktoberfest Northwest. It’s been 10 years since and the fun hasn’t stop. It will feature the biggest biergarten and dance hall with live entertainment and German grub and beer. Ms. Manuela Horn, the Queen of Oktoberfest and participant in the 2009 season of America’s Got Talent, will headline the event.

The rest of the attractions include the Stein Dash 5K, wiener dog races, stein holding, corn hole toss, beer pong, chicken dance and Kinderhaus/Family Fest Zone. You’ll find kids’ activities as well, including pumpkin decorating, scavenger hunt & more! There’s also the Hammerschlagen® Tournament of Champions, featuring prizes and bragging rights.

The Hammerschlagen is one of the most addictive bar games ever since 2005. Contestants try to drive a nail into wood faster than their opponents. Entry to the Hammerschlagen is free but first come, first served; fantastic prizes to the top three winners. Kids can try their own version of the Hammerschlagen, with supervision of course.

This is authentic entertainment, planned from noon to almost midnight. An all-ages event and happening indoors, celebration pushes rain or shine. Admission is free from noon to 3pm on Friday. The cost is $12 for Friday after 3pm and Saturday. Sunday is half price ($6) thanks to the sponsorship of the News Tribune. There’s free parking in the blue lot (enter through the blue and gold gates). There’s also shopping for souvenirs at the German Corner.

The opening ceremony takes place at 8pm on Friday night in the Festhalle Main Stage with the tapping of the Firkin. There’s an Exclusive VIP Only Area with private bar located right by the Festhalle Main Stage in the main event with easy access to dance floor. A maximum capacity of 100 people can be accommodated on the floor per night.
